What is the FIRst Tracks Mountain-ready adventure?

Mountain-Ready Safety Education for Young Skiers & Snowboarders

First Tracks is an online ski and snowboard safety certification adventure for kids ages 8–15, designed for all skill levels—from first-time skiers and snowboarders to experienced young riders. Kids complete the program before arriving at the mountain and earn a Certificate of Completion.

The mountain is yours to explore, but with that freedom comes responsibility. Being Mountain Ready isn’t just about knowing how to ride. It’s about understanding how to share the mountain, look out for others, make smart decisions, and Own Your Line™.

First Tracks helps young skiers and snowboarders understand the situations they’ll actually encounter on the mountain, including how to safely merge onto a trail, what it really means to stay in control, right of way, signs and warnings, lift awareness, safe stopping, managing speed around others, and handling peer pressure when friends make unsafe choices.

First Tracks was built from more than 40 years of combined real-world experience working with children, families, schools, and mountain communities. The lessons behind this experience come from real people, real situations, and years spent helping young people build confidence, awareness, and responsibility.
